| The Writing speeches that keep audiences listening workshop is designed for people who want to write better speeches for themselves or for others within their organisation. It has been designed and is best suited for people starting out or not particularly experienced in speechwriting. People who draft speeches for departmental heads and ministerial offices would benefit from this one-day workshop. As the title suggests, during the workshop participants will learn how to properly prepare for the written speech – a speech that will keep the audience’s attention. All the key elements of a powerful speech are addressed and participants finish the workshop understanding how the audience needs to be left thoroughly informed, persuaded and entertained. The workshops are conducted in the Public Relations Institute of Australia training rooms in Sydney or on your premises. Trainers at Kennedy Communications use an interesting PowerPoint presentation in the morning session to assist in the making of key points. Several speeches are handed out at the workshop and used as examples. The trainer intersperses the workshop with videos of effective (and not-so-effective) presentations given by others to underline important themes. The rest of the day is devoted to practical skills. Participants, either alone or in pairs, begin to write parts of their own speeches, which are then loaded onto a computer and viewed through a data projector for critiquing. During this course you will discover how important it is to: •Write a great introduction; •Write a powerful conclusion; •Tell stories; •Make effective use of PowerPoint.
This workshop by Kennedy Communications will successfully equip you with the skills and confidence to prepare the most professional and inspirational of speeches for yourself or the departmental head (Chief Executive Officer, Director General, Managing Director etc) or government minister. Kennedy Communications provides all the required equipment including video recorders, television, workbooks, data projectors at no additional cost. A training room (off site) with computers can also be arranged. This workshop can accommodate up to 12 people. Our next Speech Writing Workshop is being conducted in the training rooms at the Public Relations Institute in Sydney on 9 July 2009. For booking events@pria.com.au.
